There's A Wocket In My Pocket

Dr. Seuss- There's A Wocket In My Pocket

Students create a Seuss creature to put in the pocket. The name of the creature they create should rhyme with Pocket. (eg socket, zocket, mocket) Students then write about their creature inside the pocket. Cut out the pockets and place the creatures inside.

I did this with my Kindergarten class. Their _ockets are made of construction paper. This was a good lesson on rhyming, word endings, and nonsense words.
